Summary

"The REACH Programme is a special initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) formulated in response to the urgent challenges presented by the HIV/AIDS epidemic to the development of the countries in the region. It brings together thirteen countries in Asia to share their concerns and experience, learn from each other and benefit from global expertise to build commitment and capacity to contain the HIV/AIDS epidemic and limit its impact on the people of the region. The programme provides a common platform for countries facing similar issues for the development of effective strategies to reduce the vulnerability of people to HIV/AIDS and to respond to the needs of those who are HIV positive." In addition to the countries listed below, the REACH Programme includes Iran.
