Details

This topic encompasses the range of activities intended to change behaviours or social conditions so that HIV infection does not occur. Published sources include references to the many HIV prevention programs such as ‘safer sex’ education, needle exchange and distribution and programs designed to reduce socio-economic or other specific vulnerabilities both at national and local level. Also includes references to medical preventive measures such as post-exposure prophylaxis and microbicides.
