This report presents an overview of the policies and practises of mandatory premarital HIV testing undertaken by religious communities, national governments, and state, city, and village governments in selected countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The report highlights how an increasing trend in mandatory premarital HIV testing is infringing upon the human rights of people living with HIV and it suggests improvements that can be made to laws and policies.
