The meeting was technically and financially supported by the Rockefeller Foundation Health Equity and Southeast Asia programs, and by UNAIDS Regional Support Team for Asia and Pacific, the Asia-Pacific Leadership Forum on
HIV/AIDS and Development and the Global Coalition on Women and AIDS.


"In an effort to take stock of how AIDS policies and programs in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) have responded to the needs of women, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MOWA), Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation, UNAIDS, the Asia Pacific Leadership Forum and the Global Coalition on Women and AIDS, hosted a symposium on ‘The Women’s Face of AIDS.’ 75 participants from Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, and the Yunnan province of China identified issues, strategies and institutional mechanisms that support and influence national and community HIV and AIDS programming to respond to the women and HIV in the GMS."
