"The AIDS Research Center (ARC) was established in April 1988 for the purpose of research on HIV AIDS. It consists of two main research groups and three laboratories. Current research activities include basic HIV retrovirology, pathogenesis of AIDS, development of HIV animal models, development of HIV vaccines and therapeutic agents, and the evaluation of HIV laboratory diagnosis and current antiretroviral therapy."
