"Recently, WHO made the recommendation that BCG should not be given to known HIV infected infants, regardless of symptoms or degree of immunocompromise. The Scientific Committee on AIDS and STI (SCAS) of the Centre for Health Protection has since deliberated on its rationales, practicability and, above all, relevance to the local setting. This statement reflects the position of SCAS on this issue."
