Description

"Dr. William McGreevy, Department of Health, Georgetown University, helped prepare the initial draft of the report. Ms. Sally Wellesley, an independent consultant, contributed in giving a final shape to the report. She was the principal editor and copy editor of the report as well. This report is largely based on several background papers prepared by Ismail Muhd. Salleh, James Chau, Jing Jun, Michael Chai, Rajeev Ahuja, and Smriti Aryal, which shaped the chapters of the report. Michael Chai, who was the lead researcher for the report, made valuable contributions in a desk review of the literature and providing syntheses of various background papers. Several students from Georgetown University, including Kelly Arledge, Caraleigh Holverson, Natalie Menser, Patricia Pang and Sascha Meijers, made contributions to information gathering and data analysis."

Abstract

"This report underlines the demographic, economic and social transformation taking place in the six countries and makes an attempt to analyze and project how these rapid changes may impact the spread of HIV in years to come and recommends some critical and sustainable long-term measures that will need to be adopted in order to curb the epidemic and its impact in these six countries."
