"The report reviews progress in the following areas:
• treatment and care for people living with HIV: antiretroviral therapy, care and management of HIV/TB coinfection and other comorbidity;
• HIV testing and counselling;
• health sector interventions to prevent sexual transmission,
transmission through injecting drug use, mother-to-child transmission and transmission in health care settings;
and
• health systems and HIV: human resources, drug procurement and supply management and health information.
Each of these health-sector interventions represents a key
area in which countries must invest to achieve universal
access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support."
