- Abstract
"This document, produced jointly by the Joint United Nations Programme on AIDS and the International Organization for Migration, describes HIV/AIDS-related travel restrictions and their impact. It reviews relevant international law and human rights principles, and discusses humanitarian and ethical concerns. The document reinforces previous conclusions that HIV/AIDS-related travel restrictions have no public health justification. It reviews the economic rationale underlying some HIV-related travel restrictions and concludes that a blanket exclusion of people living with HIV on economic grounds is an overly broad mechanism that results in the exclusion of people living with HIV."
