- Abstract
"Tamil Nadu has an increasing number of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs). While prevention programs are important and should be ongoing, adequate attention should also be given to provision of HIV/AIDS care and support services. There is an urgent need to address the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS care and support services in Tamil Nadu and to advocate for the need for providing comprehensive care to people living with HIV/AIDS in Tamil Nadu. Though excellent efforts are being taken by the community-based organizations with regard to care and support services in Tamil Nadu, the efforts are often isolated and fragmented. To address the gaps in the provision of services in care and support and in treatment advocacy, the community organizations have recognized the importance of coming together to develop strategies to improve HIV/AIDS care and support issues in Tamil Nadu."
