Abstract

"This report provides an update on one of the key international health and demographic events of our time, the worldwide HIV/AIDS pandemic, a source of some of the uncertainty associated with demographic change in the coming decades. It includes information on the impact of AIDS on mortality and population. In addition, the report reviews the current status of
the HIV/AIDS epidemics in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
This report presents the methodology and results of incorporating AIDS mortality into the U.S. Census Bureau's population estimates and projections for severely affected
countries of the world."
