Abstract

"China has made significant advances in confronting HIV/AIDS, but considerable challenges remain. While overall national prevalence remains low, the epidemic is expanding from specific regions and at-risk groups to the general population. China’s success in preventing a generalized HIV/AIDS epidemic hinges on the country’s ability to test, counsel, and treat members of socially marginalized populations. This report examines the implications of the epidemic’s current trends on future Chinese policy."
