"This chartbook is intended to inform a wide audience on the situation of HIV/AIDS in Karnataka and the state's response to the spread of this deadly disease. A chartbook of this type serves multiple purposes: to collect the latest data and research from a variety of sources and to put them in one accessible publication; and to do so in a clear and concise manner. The chartbook is divided into two parts The first describes the level of infection in the state and the manner in which it spreads. The second provides details on the state's programmes to confront the disease and the evidence-based planning that underlies them."
